Australi - hell down under

Australia – Hell Down Under

1.A petrol bomb was hurled at Rajesh Sharma , a 25 yrs old student in Australia. The incident had left one- third of his body severly burned.
2. Another 25 yr old student in the same land was attacked by a screwdriver. He is battling for his life.
3. Yet another case is of Baljinder Singh who was too attacked by a screwdriver
4. May9, Saurabh Sharma a youth of 21, was racially abused, robbed and brutally stabbed in a train. He has fractured his cheek bone and broken his tooth in the incident

If, these incidents are giving you Goosebumps then imagine how terrible it might have been to experience..
But this is the latest sport for the Aussie youth which they haughtily name as “CURRY BASHING”. The malicious racial attack on Indian students in Australia has shuddered the entire world in horror. SOS – “Save our souls”, is the cry of Indian students in land of Oz which has started to echo in India but still remains undertone in Australia. .
The students are left in a wild mesh. The government of Australia has turned their deaf ear toward them leaving no option than to suffer and hope that they are not the next target. Deputy Commissioner Kieran Walshe denied any racial elements involved in brutal assaults and robberies taking place in the country.
The administration showed its hypocrisy benevolently by saying that Indians make up to be “weak prey” for the criminals. Walshe said,” I don't think they are (racist crimes) in general ... more opportunistic activity. We think they (Indians) are vulnerable, we don't think it's racial, we think they are a weak target." Lets, make a note, this was a remark by a top offial in Australian administration which itself reflects a dab of racism and discrimination. The attack on Sharma had taken place in a public spot and was recorded by the closed circuit television, yet no austere actions have been taken by the government.
Back home the incidents have left parents and students alarmed. Indians aims to give their children best of education so that they could stand with a name in this highly progressing world. With the rise of globalization people with dreams send their children abroad to pursue higher education under the burden of heavy loans and much heavier expectations . These incidents leave their faith, dreams and heart all shattered. Indian high commissioner, Sujata Singh has asked the Australian police to come up with a solution to the menace. Foreign minister S M Krishna has reminded Australia about its responsibility to ensure the well-being and security of Indian students studying in that country. PM Dr. Manmohan Singh spoke to the Australian prime minister Kevin Rudd to take actions against the racial assaults taking place on Indians.
Australia has always been infamous as a racist. Even, after its making headway civilization, it has been incapable to teach its citizens the important of equality and antiracist way of society. The racist insult by Richard Symond and Mathew Hayden does not seem to unforgotten. The country needs to learn and practice the lesson of respecting every individual in the world. The blame for provoke to racial aggression is been placed on the recession leading to unemployment and jobs going to meritorious browns. These are lame excuses because recruitment is based on merit and incapable one wouldn’t have the opportunity in any case. Federation of Indian students of Australia (FISA) has called for a peace rally in spate of the discrimination which has taken a face of violence in the land of ostrich.

Racism is an innate characteristic ingrained in a human’s mind which gives him an abstract superiority complex over one another. It drags him to such a mesh of mindset where he tends to forget humanity and does things which are also against his laws. It is shocking that the accused Australians for the burglaries and assaults were teenagers. Such a tender age in which a person still retains innocence is filled with such fury and grit to physically harm someone. I agree, no land on this earth is spared from clutches of Racism. Therefore, it is a global issue. It requires each and every person to stand against it. Even in India, this bug predominates, the assault of north Indians in maharashtra, north eastern and Africans being insulted in Delhi are popular examples. There should be mass protest all over the world against this ugliness of society which is a definte barrier against progress, and accomplishment of humanity
